Discovering The Perfect Exercise Schedule For You

Building a Sustainable Exercise Regime

Exercise is a key part of a balanced lifestyle but can be the most difficult factor of your schedule to maintain.

At our residential programs we follow a more full-on fitness schedule, but our lifestyle workshops teach how to balance the knowledge you gain into your daily lives. Highlighting enjoyment, realistic factors, organisation, and individual needs. Everyone’s daily schedule looks a bit different, but for everyone a balanced lifestyle is still possible!

So, why may you be struggling with adapting an exercise regime into your life?

Finding Enjoyment

One of the fundamental issues people face is enjoyment. If you do not enjoy the exercise you are doing, it makes it ten times harder to create a sustainable regime, resulting in boredom and going back to unhealthy habits. To find the right exercise for you it is important to explore variety. There are so many exercises out there to try other than the typical gym regime.

Exploring classes in your area is a great place to start. Lots of gyms and local halls/churches offer yoga, dance, palates, Zumba, and water aerobics. Expanding your variety will help you identify what is best for you. Some people prefer the support group classes provide through peers and motivation, and some people prefer solo exercises.

Tailored Exercises That Suit You

Depending on your fitness or health goal, you may be looking into a more tailored exercise for you. To focus on what individually you need out of the exercise you choose, focus on what specific exercises are going to provide for your body. For example, cardio (like swimming) is a great form of exercise for weight loss because it burns high calories and provides a full body workout.

Try out everything, push yourself out your comfort zone and discover what best suits you.

Organisation

Organising your schedule is going to further support your sustainability. Once you have found the right exercise for you, start an exercise schedule. Whether it is in your phone or in a diary, keeping organised helps maintain accountability and keep you in track to a healthier fulfilled lifestyle.
