Track To Success
Tracking Your Progress To Achieve Lasting Weight Loss
With over 70% of the US population struggling with either obesity or being overweight, why can’t we tackle these numbers? Research shows out of the people that are overweight and try to lose it, only 20% are successful in keeping it off sustainably. So, why is this the case?
At FitFarms Delaware we teach the importance of steps to sustainability, including nutrition, exercise regime, mindset and often not considered tracking your journey.
What do we mean by ‘Tracking’?
Not only keeping track of your measurements, diet and progress photos but your thoughts, achievements and struggles can support you through the challenging road to weight loss. Having a weight loss journal is something we heavily encourage at FitFarms. It allows you to find support within yourself, to motivate and guide you through your ups and downs.
How to journal your weight loss:
Firstly, find a journal you can use to keep up to date with your weight loss. There are lots of different things you can use your journal for depending on what will be helpful to you.
We recommend tracking your food and water intake on good and bad days. Having a food diary helps you practice mindful eating, taking into consideration everything you eat and drink each day. Next to each meal track your mood chart. Were you happy, tired, sad that day? This allows you to go over your food diary at the end of the week, and identify where you may be over eating or slipping more. Identifying your mood in align with your food intake allows you to learn more about your eating habits and how to overcome them. For example, if you realized when you tend to overeat more sugary and junk food is when you mood is more low, you can try methods like mindfulness practices or a hobby to replace indulging in unhealthy habits.
Tracking your weight loss measurements is also a great way to celebrate every small achievement along your journey, giving yourself the credit you deserve for each small step towards your goal.
Tracking other elements towards weight loss such as your sleep schedule, exercise regime and breaking unhealthy habits going to continue to support and guide you to achieve a sustainable weight loss.
